The Studio:
Probably the most picturesque glass studio in the world. We work at Spectulo hot glass studio, located in the newly remodeled ancient archeological Roman port. The entire second floor of the pier is a combination glass studio, bar, and gallery surrounded by the Mediterranean ocean on three sides. The windows behind the glory holes face Roman and the Ottoman buildings and ruins. The glass studio itself consists of two furnaces that keep the temperature of the glass above 1600 degrees C all year, three glory holes where the glass is kept warm while working, and 2 annealers for appropriate temperature cooling cycles. The public is welcome to visit the studios when we are working or schedule a time for your own personal glass experience.
Gabriel works along side Yaron, both studied at Bezalel Academy glass department in Jerusalem. Together they have over 20 years experience working in glass, and particularly in the hot shop blowing large vessels.
